"I have been practicing in the mental health field since I graduated with my undergraduate degrees (BA Psychology and BS in Dietetics) in 2008. I have a wide range of experience working with individuals in different capacities including: substance abuse/use for both adolescents and adults, caseworker for Child, Youth and Family services, Offense-Specific treatment for people with sexual offences; gender-specific trauma therapy and trauma-processing therapy. I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, and talk therapy to work through cognitive distortions and to increase awareness of patterns in behavior. I am currently working to become certified in Sensory Somatic Trauma Processing techniques.
I define trauma as anything that has happened in someone’s life that has impacted their ability to create and define safety. I believe the therapeutic relationship and establishing safety within this relationship are the most important aspects of therapy. I feel so privileged to be able to do this work and to be a part of someone’s journey of healing and growth."
